They are standing in front of where Cornett's IGA in Welsby Parade Bribie Island now stands, which was originally the site of a canning works jetty. Prior to the retaining wall being built, the butts of the piles were still visible in the black sandstone. If the sandstone comes bare outside of the wall there may still be some visible.
