TitleThe Brisbane Tug & Steamship Company Caretaker's residence which stood immediately south of the Bongaree jettyDescriptionAt that time, the caretaker was Bill Freeman (refer P2479). The Post Office was under the overhang at the back of the right hand corner. Merv Laffey later erected what he named the Villa Marina on the site (Refer P2550). It went through a series of uses (primarily as a service station) and at the present time (2006) is used for tourism purposes, i.e. restaurant / ice cream parlour (Scoopys) etc. When the tug company ceased operations the Post Office continued to operate from the same site in the caretaker's house.
