He remained a Division 2 Councillor until 1994 when Council divisions were altered and he became Councillor for Division 6. From 1976 to 1982 he served as Deputy Chairman and he was Mayor from 1997 to 2000. He also served as Finance Committee Chairman from 1991 to 1994. He is married to Patricia Rhoda Camilleri who was Shire Chairman from March 1991 to March 1994.
