Hugh McLachlan (1844-1902) worked as an overseer on roadworks during the late 1800s. Euphemia McLachlan (nee McMillan) (1858-1942) was the only midwife in the Kallangur area and travelled at all hours as far afield as Redcliffe and Deception Bay by horse and sulky to assist Doctors Shellshear, Bancroft and Brockway.
