TitleHenry Thomas Ireland (1837-1915)DescriptionHenry Thomas Ireland, who married Mary Jane McCartney (1842-1922) in 1864, was the father of five sons and three daughters. As well as being a successful crop farmer in the Albany Creek area, Henry Ireland was very active in community affairs. The Pine Rivers area was originally part of the Caboolture (Qld.) Divisional Board, an early form of local government established in 1879. Ireland was elected to represent Subdivision Three of the Caboolture (Qld.) Divisional Board in 1887. On 16 January 1888, the Pine Divisional Board was the first to be gazetted within the boundaries of the large Caboolture (Qld.) area. When the first meeting of the new Pine Divisional Board was held at his Albany Creek residence on 7 March 1888, Mr Ireland was unanimously elected as Chairman for the ensuing year.
