TitlePlaque at Bullocky Rest, Joyner, 1998DescriptionPlaque commemorating the opening of Bullocky Rest, Joyner. Bullocky Rest was opened on 16 August 1990 by the Honourable Edmund Casey, MLA, Minister for Primary Industries. The name of the park was suggested by a local historian, the late Merv Ewart, in recognition of the significance of the area to bullock teams which once travelled along the Old North Road. Teams moving south along the road would rest after crossing the North Pine River and coming through some tough, swampy country and those travelling north would rest before tackling the difficult section.
