Councillor Brian Burke requested the naming of this recreation reserve to honour Mr James Drysdale, who, while not the first President, took on this position three months after the inauguration of Camden Park Progress Association, serving until December 1962. James and Dora Drysdale purchased a lot in Yanderra Avenue of Camden Park estate in 1958.
