Topp Park, Cashmere (Qld.)

Named in honour of the Topp Family. Percy Edward Topp bought the land which forms the whole of the Ekko Ridge subdivision back in 1950 off the Hackers and it was always in Eddie’s, the eldest son’s name. Col Topp built the house ready to move into when the dam took over the property and Eddie moved up there. Previously the Hacker house was at this location and this house was burnt down after Eddie passed away some years ago. There were trenches and fox holes all over it which were used for army training back in the 1940s. The Topps had a dairy farm on Samsonvale Road and this farm was used for the dry cattle.
