Wright Reserve, Joyner (Qld.). Moreton Bay Our Story, accessed 24/03/2026, https://ourstory.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/nodes/view/51721
This reserve is named after Squadron Leader Wright who, along with Sergeant Chandler, was based in a camp in Strathpine (Spitfire Parade), from December 1934 [sic] until the 19th April 1944 when a flying exercise resulted in a collision between their two Spitfires killing both pilots.
Both pilots are buried at Lutwyche Cemetery, and these adjacent park areas have been named in their honour.
We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Country across our region. We also acknowledge and pay our respects
to the Kabi Kabi, Jinibara and Turrbal Traditional Custodians, and their elders past, present and emerging.
