Leonard â'˜s parents were Harry Wright and Mary Ann Shield. Leonard's father, Harry was a teacher at Bunya School from 1882 to 1888, he also worked for the Pine Divisional Board as a clerk and valuator from 1888 to 1891. Leonard enlisted on 31 May 1915 at Brisbane. He embarked from Queensland on the A60 "Aleneas" on 29 June 1915.
