TitleRitter Camp at Gordon's Quarry 1969DescriptionIllustration commissioned by Craig Ritter of the camp he and his friends built in Gordon's Quarry in the late 1960s as teens. In the late 60s, Craig Ritter and three friends created a camp in Chandler Reserve, known then as Gordon's Quarry. Mr Gordon after whom Gordons Crossing was named, owned the land and lived at the top of the scrub. He let kids come through if they were polite. Craig Ritter and his friends set up camps on the bank of One Mile Creek. They used the creek to keep their food cool.
