TitleAerial view of Caboolture Township and surrounding areas in 1981DescriptionThis 1981 aerial photograph was taken directly over the town of Caboolture and its surrounding areas of Moodlu, Bellmere and Morayfield. The photograph shows the further development of housing estates west along King Street Caboolture and the Wimbledon Park Estate at Morayfield and the further increased housing in the Waytown development (Caboolture South area) off Morayfield Road just south of the Caboolture River. In the photograph across the middle the Caboolture River can be seen and the Wararba Creek in the top left corner. The confluence of Wararba Creek and the Caboolture River can be seen in the photograph (located at Wararba Crescent where there is a weir). The Caboolture Cemetery on the northern banks of the Caboolture River just east of the confluence with Wararba Creek can also be seen in the photograph. This photograph shows the Caboolture State High School surrounded by pine forests (owned by APM (Australian Paper Manufacturers - Petrie Paper Mill)) just northeast of the Central Business District (CBD). The railway line and bridge over the Caboolture River can also be seen on the eastern side of the Central Business District (CBD). Just north of the Central Business District (CBD) is the Wamuran Railway Line heading west and just north of the railway crossing on Beerburrum Road the Caboolture Showgrounds can be seen at the intersection of Old Gympie Road and just near the Pumicestone Road railway crossing. The Bruce Highway is the main road on the right side of the photograph. Oakey Flat Road Morayfield, Caboolture River Road Morayfield and Morayfield Road Morayfield can also be seen across the bottom of the photograph. The main intersection (of Morayfield Road, King Street and Beerburrum Road) in Caboolture township also be seen in the middle of the photograph. In the bottom left hand corner of the photograph show more land now under pine forestry (owned by APM (Australian Paper Manufacturers - Petrie Paper Mill)). The main interchange on the bottom right side of the photograph is Morayfield Road and the Bruce Highway at Burpengary. The Caboolture Golf Course can also be seen on the northern banks of the Caboolture River (left side of the photograph) off Lesley Avenue Caboolture. The Moodlu Quarry can be seen on the far left of the photograph (near top corner). More industrial areas have expanded along the eastern side of Morayfield Road.
