TitleAerial view of the southern end of Bribie Island in 1988DescriptionThis 1988 photograph shows the continued development of Bribie Island with the early stages of the Pacific Harbour canal development on the top left side of the photograph. There are early stages of development through the middle of the island (on First Avenue) with the establishment of the Bribie Island Recreation Grounds and the early stages of an industrial area on the northern side of First Avenue. There appears to be more development on the Pumicestone Passage side of Bribie Island around the areas of Bongaree with the housing developments, in particular, the Bribie Gardens and canal development and in the Bellara area with the Pacific Harbour canal development. Over at Woorim (ocean side) there is continued housing development and the establishment of the Bribie Island Golf Course. On the mainland there are signs of development at Sandstone Point with the new Spinnaker Sound and Marina development on Pumicestone Passage on Bribie Island Road near the Bribe Island Bridge.
