Alexander Thomas Davis was the son of Charles Brandon Davis and Clare Stanley Bishop (nee Carnegie). His father died in 1894 and his mother married George Edwin Bishop in 1915. He was single, a fisherman and living with his mother & stepfather at Toorbul when he enlisted in October 1916. Alexander Thomas suffered a severe head injury during battle resulting in a depressed fracture and laceration to the brain.
